She has taught in higher education for 16 years, in addition to her law practice. Recently, she spear-headed a citizen lobbying effort to mandate the teaching of the Armenian Genocide in Michigan public schools. They later joined forces with the Jewish lobby to mandate the teaching of the Holocaust in Michigan public schools. Both Houses passed the bill and it was signed into law in June by the Governor.
